SOUTHERN ALPI GRAIE – UJA DI MONDRONE BUTTRESSES – SOUTH WALL
OCTOBER 2012

Approach:

On the south wall a buttress, ending with two 400 m length points, stands out, n. 10 lengths 3°-4°-5° difficulty traditional levels, descent completely bolted with n. 9 double rope, excellent rock.

Climbed in October 2012 with traditional equipment by:

Enzo Appiano, Chicco Formica e Nanni Conrotto, collaborating Giorgio Gilardi, Gianni Pronzato and Franco Sgnaolin.
The route has been completely cleaned up and bolted with 10 mm fix, each belay is equipped with two 10 mm bolts.

Gear:

  • Two 50 m ropes,
  • 12 transmission gears,
  • webbings and cords.

Partenza:
From the highest point of Balme village, Val D’Ala (Lanzo Valleys).  Reach the parking area of Albergo Camussot; follow the direction sign “ Falesia Ginevrè” and then the red marks directing you to “Labirinto Verticale” until you reach the Pissai waterfall.  Now follow the orange marks, which will take you to the buttress base (1 hr.)

Total ascent and descent time: 7-8 ore
